FAOS x MyCrown Collection: A ray of light for the island of Kastellorizo

A year ago, we came together with MyCrown Collection for a shared vision, to turn style into purpose and creativity into contribution. Our collaboration was inspired by the sun-kissed waters of Dodecanese, the remote beauty of Kastellorizo, Greece's easternmost island, whose serenity and resilience echo the values that inspire every creation of Faos Sunglasses.

United with MyCrown Collection, we shared passion for Greek craftsmanship and meaningful design through a limited capsule that blended artistry with purpose. The result was the Mediterranean Connection — a numbered collection of sunglasses inspired by Kastellorizo’s luminous charm and vibrant identity.

At its heart were two distinct models: Castello and Rossa, handcrafted in Greece and designed as symbols of connection between creativity and community. From the very beginning, the collaboration carried a promise — 10% of all sales would be dedicated to supporting Kastellorizo’s local society and its educational needs.

One year later, that promise came full circle.

Thanks to the trust and support of our community, Faos and MyCrown Collection proudly contributed €3,900 worth of technological equipment to the Junior High & High School of the Municipality of Megisti, in the presence of Mayor Nikolas Asvestis. The donation includes a state-of-the-art photocopy machine and multiple Microsoft Office Professional lifetime licenses, ensuring that students on the island gain improved access to the tools they need to learn, grow, and thrive.

For both supporters, this moment represents more than a donation. It’s a continuation of their shared belief that design can illuminate more than style, it can illuminate lives.

Every pair we create carries the spirit of giving back,” they note.

Supporting education in remote parts of Greece reminds us why we do what we do, to bring light where it’s needed most.

Beyond the numbers and materials lies a deeper connection, one that binds the Aegean, creativity, and community into a single act of purpose.

As Faos and MyCrown Collection look ahead, this initiative stands as a promise: that beauty and responsibility will always go hand in hand, and that every collaboration can cast a brighter light for others to follow.
